Ossining

Ossining

About the area

The village of Ossining, on the Hudson River in Westchester, has a surprisingly large place in American culture, given its three-square-mile size. Rich in pre-Revolutionary War history, it was also home to both the author John Cheever and the fictional character of Don Draper in the AMC series “Mad Men”. The village has been revitalized in recent years. Events like a farmers’ market and summer street fair bring more life to the downtown area. The housing stock included Victorians, ranches, Capes and colonials as well as apartment buildings, condos co-ops, and a booming rental market.
