Real estate is a relationship business which is one of the things I love most about it! I truly value the opportunity to meet new people, and sometimes those connections even evolve from business to real friendship.
I’ve had the good fortune of essentially growing up in the restaurant business which has been a great foundation for learning the importance of relationship-building, entrepreneurship and customer satisfaction. When I was 16 years old, I filled in for my dad at the restaurant he worked in because he couldn’t afford an unpaid sick day. The restaurant owner liked me and recognized my strong work ethic and asked me to come back! I started as a dishwasher and worked my way up to chef, restaurant manager and then partner/owner, running my own restaurants for over 20 years now.
My first foray into real estate began in NYC as an associate in a “nightlife brokerage” that locates space for restaurants, night clubs and bars, a great adjunct to my own restaurant business. Though successful, I eventually shifted to residential real estate a couple of years ago and found that I really enjoy it, and love helping people find their new homes.
When I’m not working, I love all kinds of exercise including running and playing basketball and baseball. My NYC restaurant is right near Madison Square Garden so that’s given me many opportunities to see some of my favorite basketball and hockey teams play. I’m a family man and still do a lot of the cooking at home, especially during the holidays. Cooking and presenting a home-cooked meal that my family and guests enjoy is something I take great pride in.
