Croton-on-Hudson

About the area

The 4.8-square-mile Westchester County village of Croton-on-Hudson, part of the town of Cortlandt, forms an imprecise triangle whose southern corner nestles at the convergence of the Croton River on its eastern edge, and the Hudson to its west. The rivers/ along with the village’s park and open spaces, encourage an abundance of outdoor activities, like swimming, boating, fishing, hiking and bird-watching. The village is also known as a creative enclave. In the early 1900s, artists and writers settled in the hills around Mount Airy Road. Croton continues to attract artists of all sorts with its natural beauty and small-town feel.
